The 3R80 knee joint is a modular knee joint with hydraulic stance and swing phase control. It is designed for highly active individuals (mobility grade 3-4) who are determined to go their way, at their own pace. The 3R80 is suitable for users with a body weight of up to 150 kg. This prosthetic knee joint can benefit users with a transfemoral amputation, knee and hip disarticulation, and bilateral amputation.
The 3R80 knee joint is waterproof and corrosion-resistant. It can be worn in fresh, salt and chlorinated water. To maintain the knee joint’s functionality, it is essential to clean it as instructed after using it in water.

The anterior axis chain is designed like a conventional four-axis joint, but the posterior linkage bar is interrupted by an additional pivot point (Fig. 1). The proven design thus allows for two different modes of operation: swing phase mode and stance phase flexion mode. Two specially configured miniature hydraulic units (Fig. 2, A+B) control the two modes.
